You don’t need to know the words to Stayin' Alive to do successful CPR ... here’s a list of absolute bangers to bounce along with! It's full of classics and modern hits that are all 100-120 beats per minute... the perfect pace for a good CPR rhythm.
Rhythm and timing are important factors in performing quality CPR. The human heart beats like a metronome, and when performing CPR we are trying to simulate this in order to maximise the amount of blood volume leaving the heart with each compression. If your compressions have no rhythm, stroke volume will likely be insufficient and you will struggle to maintain adequate blood pressure and tissue perfusion for your casualty.
