This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, including oxygen and Oropharyngeal airways.
This unit applies to workers who may be required to use specialised equipment to provide resuscitation in a range of complex situations, include community and workplace settings.
There is a practical assessment (as per the unit of competency guidelines) of two (2) minutes of uninterrupted CPR performed on the floor, as well as a 20-question multiple choice assessment and short answer assessment. If you are physically incapable of performing CPR on the floor, please contact our staff for further information.
It is recommended that this unit be renewed every 12 months in line with industry standards.
This course runs approximately 4 hours face to face with a pre-course online requirement to be completed prior to the face-to-face component.

This course will be delivered in the workplace or at ACTWell First Aid & Training Canberra’s training facility.
Course Duration (face to face)
- Blended delivery – 4 hours with the addition of up to 1 hour self-paced learning

The fee for this course is $130.

Payment Terms – Payment for individual participants is upfront, group booking payment terms are based on agreement between the client and service provider.
Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. These are detailed in the sections following.
