This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance and provide advance training in the use of auto injectors for the treatment of anaphylaxis and the advance treatments associated with Asthma.
This course runs approximately 3 hours face to face with a pre-course online requirement to be completed prior to the face-to-face component.
The 22282VIC Course in the Management of Asthma Risks and Emergencies in the Workplace & 22300VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis qualification expires after three (3) years
There is a theoretical assessment of 20 multiple choice questions as well as some shot answer questions. There also practical activities utilising training auto-injectors, asthma relievers and spacers.

Payment Terms – Payment for individual participants is upfront, group booking payment terms are based on agreement between the client and service provider.
Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. These are detailed in the sections following.
As a minimum, entrants to the course must have literacy and numeracy competencies equivalent to the Australian Core Skills Framework Level 2. An example of an ACSF Level 2 competency is being able to read and comprehend the ASCIA Action Plan for Anaphylaxis, request appropriate emergency assistance at the scene of the incident and complete incident reports. In addition, it is recommended that entrants have current competency in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Participants must have the physical fitness to be able to meet the demands of the practical demonstration such as positioning a casualty ready to administer an autoinjector and administering the autoinjector.
