First aid for remote and isolated environments
HLTAID013 – Provide First Aid in a Remote or Isolated Site | Canberra, ACT
Overview
A remote first aid course for people who work where emergency services may be hours away. HLTAID013 prepares you to manage casualties for extended periods, coordinate evacuations and make critical decisions in remote and isolated environments.
In remote and isolated sites, the gap between an incident and the arrival of emergency services can be measured in hours, not minutes. The first aider on site is not just providing initial care, they are managing a casualty over an extended period, coordinating an evacuation, and doing it without the backup most first aid courses assume will arrive quickly.
HLTAID013 builds on the foundations of standard first aid and extends them into the realities of remote work. You will learn how to prepare ahead of time as well as how to manage casualties for prolonged periods, improvise with limited resources, coordinate with retrieval teams, and respond in environments where help is delayed.
This course is delivered by emergency service professionals with direct experience in remote incident management. That experience shapes every scenario they build.
